Overview

The R&D Manager has technical responsibility for managing Flooring R&D. To lead the function. Product development and modification in the product area necessitated for the business needs for product and technology. Collaborating with global R&D centers for technology transfers and technology solutions for Indian market. The tasks & responsibility includes:

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Flooring R&D Function and team, experience in managing multiple projects n teams.
  • Research and development of product as per business growth and market share expansion.
  • Troubleshooting – support the technical, QC and operations team whenever there is a customer complaint.
  • Cost optimization by reformulation and RM substitution
  • Coordination with the respective Sika global R&D centers for new projects n products
  • Raw material selection & validation
  • Supplier selection & development in cooperation with the purchasing department
  • Specifying product formulations
  • Specifying production procedures in coordination with production department
  • Taking part in new/alternate vendor development for the enhancement of product quality and cost reduction
  • Ensuring the ecology & safety of selected raw materials, intermediates & final products
  • Maintaining secrecy, safeguarding confidential information & complying with Sika policies

Education

B.Sc./ Diploma in Chem Tech/ B.Tech in Chemical engineering

Experience

15 + years, Research, Product development and Customer Service in Chemical Manufacturing Company for flooring products, epoxy flooring, Cementitious polyurethane flooring and polyurethane flooring. Candidate must have experience in Color development.  Knowledge on other construction chemicals products is not mandatory but will be of added advantage (epoxy coatings and structural adhesives and cementitious mortars, grouts, tile adhesives, self-levelling screeds)
